Hi!  I am Mrs. Kostik.  This year begins my 24th year of teaching.  I have been with the South Allegheny School District for 14 years.  Prior to that, I taught with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit for 10 years.  I taught special education for 22 years.   I am very dedicated to the success of all students.

      I was born in South Carolina, but was raised in Bethel Park, PA and graduated from Bethel Park High School.  I am number eight in a family of ten, six girls and four boys.  I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University of PA and my graduate degree and post graduate degrees from California University of PA.  I am very focused on making this year as interesting, exciting, and successful for all of you that are involved in my class.  I will be piloting a new math series and am very excited about bringing all the things I learned in training back to my classroom.

     I presently live in Westmoreland County with my husband (who owns a bowling alley in Swissvale) and youngest son, who is in 11th grade.  We have two cats, Molly and Milo.  My 19 year old son is attending his second year at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa.  I also have a son who is in IRAQ.  He is a lawyer (JAG) for the US Army. He lives in Kansas with his wife, and my grandog, LUNA.  Please keep him in your thoughts.  I also have a daughter who lives in Smithton, PA with her husband and two daughters.  They are 5 and 8 years old.  My granddaughters are my little "princesses" who hold a special place in my heart. 

    My philosophy of education is that all students are capable of learning and with the  support and collaboration of parents, school, and community, the success of all will be achieved.
