Students in the fifth and sixth grade have the opportunity to play a musical instrument. At the beginning of their fifth grade year, with permission from their parents, may "try out" different instruments to see which instrument suits them the best.  Certain physical traits are also taken into consideration such as finger length, teeth structure etc.  Lessons are given during the day in small homogenious groups, once every six days for 35 minutes.  After a certain skill level is reached, students are slowly incorporated into a band setting.  Concerts are given in the winter and the spring.
