Fourth Grade General Music
In fourth grade general music, we focus on the basic elements of music which include beat, rhythm, tempo and melody. We then apply that knowledge while playing recorders. An incentive program entitled "Recorder Karate" is used to encourage students to build upon coordination and note reading skills. The last nine weeks, students are introduced to the four instrument families, discuss the way each produces a sound, and how to hold each one of them.
