Steel Center

  • Steel Center Area Vocational Technical School

Steel Center offers students the opportunity to complete one, two, and three-year programs in a variety of career areas. Students earn program certificates based upon competency, ranging from a basic skills certificate to an advanced skills certificate with distinction. Programs are clustered. In the first year of study, students are exposed to each program in the cluster. Students are given the opportunity to participate in cooperative programs as juniors and seniors. The South Allegheny School District provides Steel Center students with transportation. A personal visit to the school is recommended. Detailed descriptions of courses and programs are available in the Steel Center Area Vocational School curriculum book.  Students electing to enroll at Steel Center are expected to remain in the program at least one year.
