    Description: This course includes a brief introduction to the history and development of languages and gives students the beginning foundation of the French language.  Students will be introduced to Francophone culture, including customs, art, music, and history.

    Description: French 1 is designed for students to build a solid foundation in the language.  The emphasis will be on conversational vocabulary and basic grammar structures.  Listening, reading, writing, and speaking will be the skills of focus in the classroom.  Discussions of culture will be used to further students’ understanding of similarities and differences in daily life in the Francophone world.
