  • Technical Education Department Vision Statement:  Every Industrial Arts/ Technology Education Student at South Allegheny will be educated in a variety of technological areas which will help them apply technology and problem solving skills in the solution of problems that face society today. The development of technology and industrial arts projects will engage students in critical problem solving, develop basic math proficiency, and reinforce writing and vocabulary skills used in the PSSA learning process.

    Description: This course is an introductory course designed to teach 7th grade students the fundamentals of drafting. The students will learn how to read a ruler to the nearest 16th of an inch along with adding and subtracting of these measurements. Students will learn how to use the Auto Cad software by working on several basic drawings which will help develop their skills with using the tools in Auto Cad   Students appropriate lab behavior is required to ensure the health safety and welfare of all students and instructors in the classroom.

    Prerequisite: N/A                                                                   Difficulty Rating: 3                             Description: Modular technology students receive an exploratory overview in a few areas of technology. Students will cover areas such as Transportation, bio-related, communication, manufacturing, and construction. This is all achieved through a modular basis covering areas from aerodynamics through structural stress analysis. Students are continuously tested on this information through pre and post-test as well as exercises all while working at multimedia stations. Student appropriate lab behavior is required to ensure the health safety and welfare of all students and instructors in the technology classroom.
