Argentina - September 2013

  • On Tuesday, September 24, 2013, we gathered to create a wonderful Argentine spread.  Parent-student teams filled and baked empanadas, breaded thin filets for a milanesa steak sandwich, prepared a favorite Argentine condiment called Salsa Golf (a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise), made fresh whipped cream from scratch, and layered thin pastries with dulce de leche (a caramel sauce) to make mil hojas for dessert.  To drink, we made mate cocido, which is a traditional tea served to friends.
