  • CULTURAL PRIDE OF S.A. SCHOLARSHIP

    MISSION STATEMENT

The national organization of the Sons of Italy was formed in 1905 to serve as a mutual aid society to immigrants of Italian heritage.  Its mission is to preserve and encourage the study of Italian culture, heritage, language, and traditions, as well as promoting closer cultural ties between the United States and Italy.

The local Sons & Daughters of Italy Club has been a staple in the four boroughs since 1919.  They have been very supportive of community functions throughout the four boroughs, sponsoring various sports teams, hosting concerts and other functions at the club, and for a long time, sponsoring an annual parade for the Feast of the Assumption in August.  Additionally, the SOI is also supportive of community charitable actions and is pleased to offer this scholarship for the benefit of a graduate of South Allegheny High School.
