    In accordance with state code, the South Allegheny School District will require a current federal criminal history background check from all applicants.

    Under Act 114 of 2006, Section 111 of the Public School Code was amended to require applicants to obtain a federal criminal history background check.  The process became effective April 1, 2007 and applies to:

    • All student teachers (participating in classroom teaching, internships, clinical or field experience).

    • All prospective employees (including, but not limited to, administrators, teachers, substitutes, janitors, cafeteria workers and office employees) of public and private schools, intermediate units and area career-technical schools.

    • All independent contractors and their employees and bus drivers who have direct contact with children.

    Head Boys Soccer Coach

    The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

    Ø  Prior Head Coaching experience or experience as a varsity assistant coach preferred;

    Ø  A minimum of 3 years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher

    Ø  An understanding of running an effective off-season program

    Ø  An ability to promote and maintain good discipline and academic oversight for the student athletes.

    Ø  Good Communications skills to interact with Boosters, Parents, Officials and Administration

    Ø  Knowledge, experiences and resources in aspects of NCAA applications and college recruiting;

    Ø  Knowledge and experience in the mechanics of running a successful soccer program;

    Ø  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Ø  Ability to promote, build, sustain a quality soccer program with the District’s Core Value first.
