South Allegheny Elementary School (Grades K-5)
Welcome to South Allegheny Elementary School!
Dear SAE Students and Families,
Welcome to South Allegheny Elementary School! At SAE, we envision a vibrant and nurturing learning community where every child is empowered to explore, discover, and grow. Our commitment is to foster a love for learning, cultivate curiosity, and ignite creativity. We strive to develop critical thinking and ensure academic proficiency through evidence-based instruction, rigorous educational activities, innovative programs, personalized learning, and robust support systems. SAE provides a nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. Our mission is to develop:
-
- Citizens who contribute to the local and global community.
- Active collaborators who work with others to achieve a common goal.
- Effective communicators who can effectively express thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
- Creative Innovators who think critically and creatively to solve problems.
- Lifelong learners who continue to grow through opportunity and life experiences.
Our amazing teachers work hard throughout the year to create innovative learning environments that foster curiosity and a growth mindset. At SAE, we seek to identify and address the unique needs of each child. Each day, our staff plan instructional activities that challenge learners to grow and achieve their full potential. In addition to comprehensive curricular offerings, our students and staff also practice GLAD expectations, where we teach and model what it means to Give respect, Lead others, Act appropriately, and Do our best.
Throughout the year, we strive to create an atmosphere where students feel welcome and have fun at school. Our fantastic PTA collaborates with the school administration and staff to provide experiences and memories that our students will not soon forget. SAE is a true school community!
We welcome the opportunity to partner with parents to ensure that our students grow and achieve. Kids never stop learning, and developing reading skills and habits will help them to become lifelong learners. Reading with your child, whether you read to them or they read to you, is important for their development. We encourage families to set aside time each day for reading at home. Additionally, speaking with your child daily about their school experience will support their growth.
We are very excited about the 2025-26 school year. I would like to thank our families personally for their ongoing support. I look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with all South Allegheny stakeholders. Let’s Go GLADS!
