HS Administration
Hello, I am Chuck Michael, Director of Secondary Education for the South Allegheny School District.
My responsibilities include: High School Principal, Middle School Principal and Director of Special Education K-12. Prior to my roles at South Allegheny, I was a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal in Middle school and Elementary School, an Elementary Principal, a Middle School Principal, and a Director of Special Education. The 2023-2024 school year will be my 21st year in education.
Throughout the last 25 years, I attended California University of Pennsylvania and obtained my Bachelor’s in Special Education in 2002, Masters in Administration in 2007, and my Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility in 2013. I am a lifelong learner and continue to enroll in classes and professional development that assists in my professional and personal growth.
I have been married to my wife, Gina, for 16 years and we have a daughter, a son, and a blue nose Pitbull. I am active in my community, my church, and I coach my children's youth sports.
I am excited to be here at South Allegheny and serve the entire Gladiator family.
My name is Marisa Bragg and I am the Assistant Principal for both the Middle and High Schools. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, both my parents immigrated to the United States from Calabria, Italy. My parents father a worker in the steel mills and mom a seamstress, both instilled in me a strong work ethic, family values, resiliency, and compassion for others.
Becoming an educator and working with children was always a dream of mine. I was a classroom teacher for ten years before moving into administration at two different Intermediate Units, then moved on to my roles as a building Principal and Assistant Principal. The majority of my school experience was in inner-city schools.
I earned both my Bachelor of Science (1999) and Master of Science (2002) degrees from Duquesne University. My Principal Certification was earned at Point Park University in 2006. I am currently attending Point Park University again to earn my Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) by concentrating my studies on trauma. I plan to defend my dissertation in the summer of 2024.
Married to my best friend and husband since 2020, we love spending time together (with our three cats) watching movies, taking long walks, and visiting with family and friends. I am proud and excited to be a member of the South Allegheny Gladiator family and team.
