Family Right-to-Know

Under the requirements of Federal programs, the parents in schools that receive Title I funds are notified annually that they may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher(s) and any paraprofessionals that may work with their child.  This requirement is outlined in The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESSA), Section 1112(e)(1)(A) and the Every Student Succeeds Act, Section 1112(e)(1)(A).

In South Allegheny School District, any parent may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher(s) and of any paraprofessionals that may work with their child.  Parents from South Allegheny School District receive letters each fall to meet the outlined requirements.

If a child in a Title I school is assigned to or being taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not appropriately state certified, South Allegheny  School District will send written notification to that child’s family.

If you have questions regarding the professional qualifications regarding your child’s teacher(s) or paraprofessional(s), please contact the building principal.
