Job description
The Elementary teacher promotes and develops successful learning for students and performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District Policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students and utilizes a variety of classroom techniques and strategies that promote high levels of student growth and achievement. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research-based principles of effective instruction, understanding of how to use data to meet the needs of all students, and planning instruction using learning targets with clearly defined student outcomes.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement a rigorous curriculum and learning environment for all students.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research-based principles of effective instruction.
  • Develop and maintain an instructional environment conducive to effective student learning.
  • Prepare effectively for class instruction. Use data to identify and address student needs.
  • Develop and communicate appropriate grading standards, expectations, and academic progress to students and parents.
  • Develop and maintain positive interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships.
  • Build motivation and interest in learning.
  • Maintain an ongoing personal program of professional growth and development.
  • Adhere to yearly District, school, and department goals
