Special Education Teacher - K-12
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including but not limited to math, reading, and writing
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Utilize learning technology and assistive devices to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to instructional strategies
- Provide behavioral support and interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other special needs preferred
- Knowledge of educational administration and best practices in special education
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively use learning technology and assistive devices
- Experience mentoring or providing guidance to students
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and techniques
